![]() It worked that way for a while and then started locking my laptop up. The Accel instructions say to right click on “Online to ECM” and enter 6 for the com port number. I had this same problem with the Accel Gen7 DFI system that uses USB. Can anyone help shed some light on this problem? Any help would be appreciated. The gen 7 is all wired and I'm getting power at the computer and a switched 12v. ![]() I've tried different laptops and different updates of the software.īoth computers recognize that the USB has been plugged in. I have the USB pro key and I also have a serial port on my computer, both of which give me the same error. Every time I try to hook it up, I get the communication error that the com port isn't configured on my laptop. I'm having trouble getting my laptop to communicate with the newly installed Gen 7 in my car.
